Sometimes it’s the inadequacies of a technology that make it beautiful.
With traditional photography thing do not warp; they blur.
Not so with the cameraphone.
For whatever reason – I admit I am lacking for a technical explaination here – cameraphones take rapid movents in bright light and warp rather than blur them.
The effect is somewhat like capturing what actually happened to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge on November 7th, 1940. YouTube it – you’ll see what I’m talking about.
After a very long drive back from Niagara, my girlfriend looked in our rearviewmirror and declared that a ninja was tailing us.
I snapped this pic and the next thing I know the guy is beside my open passenger window congenially asking if I got a good shot.
Appropriately, his bike’s model name was Ninja.
A very inventive way to make an empty gravel lot surrounded by barbed wire fence look friendly.
I think all vacant lots should do this.
So today I was in the car with my friend Keith – navigating with his iPhone when it decided to die.
I took this shot with my own iPhone while trying to soft-reset his for the fifth time.

Like many cities, Toronto has experienced a burger craze of late. Here’s a reminder that way before it became cool there was a place that dedicates itself heart and soul to the simple hamburger.
Going to Johnny’s Burgers can feel a little soup-Nazi-ish (don’t even think about losing your ticket) but the service is fast and the burgers are good.
Get it cut medium or fatty with coleslaw and pickles. Most people drink a cherry coke with it but I prefer coffee.

The coolest thing is that if you click the location link below that says Hamilton, Ontario it will show this photo’s location as being exactly the same as the blue dot on the iPhone screen in the photo.
Technology – ain’t it grand!
Is it just me, or does this sign seem bitter? Like its tried asking nicely but its had enough now and is not going to mince words anymore.
So I’d hear about this new coffee shop in Leslieville and decided to check it out a while ago.
The barista at Te Aro made me this kick-ass latt?? with a rosetta so solid it damn near imprinted itself on the bottom of the mug. Now that’s craftsmanship!
Check out Te Aro online or in-person – I recommend the latter…and the latt??. (Ha! – Did you see what I did there? Did ya? Did ya?…yeah I’m lame.)

This image was not a “happy accident”. I had just finished looking at this magnifying glass art piece when I saw a plaid-wearing gallery patron making the rounds. I staked-out my spot for about a minute before he finally walked past and I snapped this shot.
