“Stretch” – Safety chain catches refuse and algae at the historic dam at Île de la Visitation, Montreal

Île de la Visitation is an unexpected gem in Northern Montreal that I highly recommend visiting.

In addition to being a unique residential community that reminds me of Toronto Island’s inhabited regions, it contains the preserved remains of a decaying mill and miles of nature trails to explore.

“The Ultimate Backlight”

I am not a morning guy; I can sleep-in with the best of them.

But I do love the rare occassions when I have to be up extremely early. You get to see the world in a whole new light – literally.

This was the case with the photoshoot I was on yesterday morning. Call time at the Scarborough Bluffs was 5:30am.

It was dark, cold and – except for the two guys who had clearly been out clubbing and had talked their high-heels and mini-dress clad ‘dates’ into the romance of driving out to watch the sunrise – quiet.

Then the arc of that orange-pink sphere begins to peek above the horizon and the flat grey light begins to separate into highlight and shadows.

“Chillin’ On The Flip-Side” – Roof-top patio overlooking the Atlantic at the Madada Mogador Hotel, Essaouira, Morocco

After an 8 hours drive across the Moroccan desert – through
road-construction dust-storms in a car without air conditioning, my girlfriend and I finally arrived in Essaouira (ESSA-we’re-ah) to the cooling breeze of the Atlantic. We were welcomed by the friendly staff of the Madada Mogador with a pot of mint tea and a seat on their rooftop patio.

“Office View” – Charter fishing boat on Lake Ontario

Here’s another Daily Mobile first, the first post with an image taken on a Blackberry.

While between phones last year (see previous post) I was in a photoshoot on a charter fishing boat out of Port Credit on Lake Ontario. My friend Jessica graciously lent me her beloved BB so I could take this shot of my office view to share with my girlfriend.

I took this photo with someone else’s phone because mine didn’t even have a camera at the time.
