“Parallel Lines” – Boston’s Logan International Airport, Terminal E

My fascination with huge American flags continues.

“I CONVERSE*> Boston” – Neon sign at the Newbury Street Converse store, Boston

This is the first and currently ONLY Converse store in the world. Apparently Boston is where it all started for Converse.

Upstairs they have an in-house ‘maestro’ who will customize your chucks while you wait! Very cool.

I couldn’t resist and had to pickup two new pair.

“Ummmm…no thank you” – Unfortunately named sauce for sale at T & T Supermarket, Toronto

“Dragon-Fire Red” – Chinatown restaurants wallpaper, Boston

The dim sum was excellent but our table was not.

If you can visit and they attempt to seat you on the small karaoke stage at the back of the dining room, insist on another table. The food carts can’t get to you!

“The Kaiser Sleeps on the Subway” – Moustachioed rider with a unique hat stretches-out on the Boston metro’s Green Line

“There’s A Monster Outside My Window” – The view from my room at the Boston Hotel Buckminster

“Scratch That” – Innovative wall art, SoHo, New York City

“GPH is the sh*t – literally” – Even the toilet paper is branded at the Gramercy Park Hotel, New York

“Water Snake” – Having fun while emptying the rain barrel

“Feline Gothic” – The kitties are not amused as life imitates art

“Sun Walk” – Photo crew returning to the studio after a test shot at Pinewood Film Studios, Toronto

A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of working with photographer Andrew Macpherson. Even if you don’t know the name you’ll definitely recognize his celebrity and music work – just take a look at his website http://www.macfly.com

Andrew was in town to shoot publicity stills of Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum for their upoming movie “The Vow”.

I captured this image on our pre-light day while the crew was walking back from a test shot. Andrew had hoped to take a few shots of Rachel and Channing outside but on the day of the shoot the weather was overcast and rainy. However, it wasn’t a total loss for Andrew as he did managed to grab a shot of a “sun dog”, an intriguing atmospheric phenomenon which he further describes on his blog at http://macfly.com/2010/10/sun-dog-in-toronto/

Location was Pinewood Studios. All equipment was provided by S1group.ca

“Yes Dear” – Exhausted husband at the William Ashley Warehouse Sale, Toronto

IMAGINED DIALOGUE:

WIFE: What do you think of these sheers?

HUSBAND: Hmmm?

W: I said, what do you think of these sheers?

H: They’re nice.

W: You didn’t even look.

H: Whatever you say.

“Pan-O-Rama!!!” – Driving west on Lakeshore near The Kingsway, Toronto

This panorama is my first ever iphone panorama and it was made with the PanoLab app by Originate.

“Tossin’ Out the Turf” – Discarded AstroTurf at Lamport Stadium, Liberty Village, Toronto

“Subway Lovers” – Teenager lovers lingering on the stairs at Greenwood Subway Station as the world rushes by

“When’s It Gonna Get Here?” – Kids on a field-trip waiting for the Harbourfront streetcar in the rain, Toronto

“In the Clouds” – Toronto’s iconic tower obscured by fog, Toronto

“Great Sandwich” – Black Camel Sandwiches, Rosedale, Toronto

“Autumn’s Here” – Residential street deluged with fallen leaves, Toronto

The recent winds brought down the stragglers and it’s time to start raking.

“Toronto’s Little Biggest Fan” – Young boy enamoured with foam finger at Raptors game, ACC

“Stretch” – Safety chain catches refuse and algae at the historic dam at Île de la Visitation, Montreal

Île de la Visitation is an unexpected gem in Northern Montreal that I highly recommend visiting.

In addition to being a unique residential community that reminds me of Toronto Island’s inhabited regions, it contains the preserved remains of a decaying mill and miles of nature trails to explore.

Learn more about the island HERE or visit it via the google maps link below:

“It’s a Little Early for That” – Pathetic-looking snowman (leaf-man?) in the suburbs of North Montreal

Check it out on Google Streetview:

If anyone knows the people who live there I’d love to meet them.

“Bagel U” – The best bagels in the world, St. Viateur Bagels, Montreal

Fairmont Bagels is a close second.

“Lighting the Way” – Streetlight in rest-stop parking lot at dusk, Highway 401

“Driving to the Moon” – 401 to Montreal (homage to Christopher Pratt)

Inspired by the amazing Newfoundland/Canadian artist Christopher Pratt’s painting “Driving to Venus”

“Follow the Hipster” – Lost hipsters around King East, Toronto

At first I wished I could’ve gotten closer before snapping a shot, but upon review I couldn’t be happier with what I managed to catch.

An unquestionable archetype of the hipster stereotype (plaid shirt, ironic throwback baseball cap, moustache) trailed by his hip-HOP-ster counterpart in the midst of a slacker Abbey Road Crosswalk strut.

I live for these moments.

“The usPhone” – Couple admires their iPhone on the subway, Toronto

“Competing Sculptures” – Discarded children’s toys give actual art piece a run for its money, Toronto

Venetian Ball aftermath at the MTCC, Toronto

Last night I did a job at The Venetian Ball. It’s a huge charity gala with much food and drink and entertainment. The surprise musical guest was the legendary Stevie Wonder, and he did not dissappoint. He played longer than he was supposed to and was spot on and sang all the hits with grace and aplomb. Truly, a class act.

This is a shot of one of the many busser’s trolleys used to clean-up the revelry.

“The Staff or the Ladder?” – A warning sign at a warehouse sale, Toronto
