“Motivational Traffic Pylons”

Photo

The Dollar Store always amazes me. It is filled with a great number of items I can’t imagine anyone ever buying. Case in point, these motivational traffic pylons.

Even more stunning is the thought that somewhere in China there is a massive plastics factory with an army of workers dedicated to producing these novelty trinkets.

I just picture someone’s grandmother manning quality control at one of these factories dutifully inspecting cone after orange cone to ensure “Way to go!” and “You did it!” have been printed legibly.

“Gotta Keep The Tiger Clean” – Bizarre moving van logo

2010_tdm_img_7274

Not sure how the tiger applies to moving, or why it appears they only decided to clean that part of the truck.

“Limitorque” – Tool in the workshop at the Pickering Nuclear Power Plant

Dunno know what it does but I love the name.

“Peekin’ Through” – Glimpse of a sunset in Toronto

As my Dad once asked, who even knew what fondant was before The Food Network?

I got to work with the photo A-team of Jarret and Emily today and it reminded me to post this photo of them from a shoot earlier this year.

Either Walmart is taking a different approach with their security guards or he wants to beat me up for the comment I made about his ’87 Camero.

“Hi” – Rugged and unusual Volvo

Photo

My friend, Rudo, has informed me that this is a Volvo C303 and is “amazing.”

I also found a video (what did we ever do before YouTube?) of one of these bad boys in action:

“Through Here” – Unusual poster on a door in Parkdale, Toronto

“Bad Back II” – Woman and her bra wait for Genius Bar service at the Square One Apple Store, Mississauga

2010_tdm_img_4139

This photo is an unexpected continuation of a 'series' started here. Perhaps it was wishful thinking that I would never come across a fashion faux pas like this again. I just didn't expect it to happen at an Apple Store!

“Waiting” – Crew member stands-by on-set at Wallace Studios, Toronto

2010_tdm_img_3503

This past summer I had the opportunity to stop by Wallace Studios where my partner, Diana Carreiro, was doing hair & makeup for a motion project directed by Gabor Jurina for Transcontinental starring Russian ballerina Svetlana Lunkina.
